This is how Van der Poel celebrated his feat: champagne with ... chips!

The Corendon-Circus shared a curious image of the dinner after the conquest of the Amstel Gold Race by the Dutchman.

Mathieu Van der Poel is the fashion cyclist. At 24 years old, the Dutchman left his mark on Sunday conquering the Amstel Gold Race in his first participation, signing one of the greatest gestations of cycling that are remembered in recent years.

After crossing the finish line, the Dutchman could not to believe his own deed and he was lying on the ground completely exhausted. But soon began to recover from the tremendous effort made in the (266 kilometers with 35 hard climbs) and left us a curious image with the rest of his teammates.

El Corendon-Circus shared a photo on his Instagram account that corresponds to the dinner after the race, where all the members of the staff celebrated the gesta obtained by Van der Poel eating meat with fried potatoes and toasting with champagne Moët & Chandon. As a culmination to his great season, where he has achieved 5 victories in just 15 days of competition (Grand Prix de Denain, Dwars door Vlaanderen, Stage 1 of the Circuit Sarthe, De Brabantse Pijl and Amstel Gold Race), such a feat deserved a good feast.
