Racing Point will invest € 29 million to renovate its F1 factory

The Silverstone-based team expects the works to be completed by 2021, when there will be a major change in the rules of the F1 World Championship.

According to 'F1 Racing', the team of Lance Stroll and Sergio Pérez will present this month a request in the district of South Northamptonshire to expand its current headquarters of 1.2 hectares up to 12.1, tasks that will cost 25 million pounds (29.12 million euros) and whose ultimate goal is to update and equip with the latest technology possible the 410 engineers led by Otmar Szafnauer.

"The team has never more stable and in better hands and this project aims to attract and retain the best Formula 1 staff. This is a new chapter, the beginning of a new era and there is a great energy of the shareholders to invest and help the team to Become an important competitor in the future. Our new facilities will be able to accommodate the expansion we have planned to increase personnel levels to around 600. We need everyone under the same roof, we want to expand our production, create a nice bar, an office space, meeting rooms and a gym for our employees, everything we do not have at this time. But we do not plan on it being too ostentatious. We have to preserve our DNA and the ethics of competition, so it will be designed specifically for performance, "says Szafnauer.
