Movistar announces its team for the Basque Country with Landa in front

The Alava cyclist will be the leader of the telephone team for the Itzulia, where he already knows what it is to win a stage but where the general resists him.

Mikel Landa will face a demanding test ahead of the Tour of Italy next week at the Itzulia (8-13 January). The Alava cyclist will be the leader of the Movistar in the Tour of the Basque Country, one of his favorite tests in which he knows what it is to win a stage but where he still resists the general.

Landa, which last year was second in the general after the Slovenian Primoz Roglic, arrives at the Basque round after a remarkable performance in the Settimana Ciclista Coppi e Bartali, where he won a stage and was fourth overall. On the roads of the Basque Country he will rub shoulders with the 'txapela winner of cyclists like Geraint Thomas, Rohan Dennis, Enric Mas, Julian Alaphilippe or Adam Yates.

The Alava cyclist will be supported by a block that defends well in the middle and high mountains formed by Andrey Amador, Carlos Verona, Antonio Pedrero, Rubén Fernández, José Joaquín Rojas and the winner of the Vuelta a San Juan Winner Anacona.
