Conners wins the Valero Texas Open and debuts on the PGA Tour

The Canadian golfer finished the course with 268 strokes, two less than Charley Hoffman, to get his first title in the PGA Tour circuit.


27-year-old Canadian Corey Conners has achieved his first title on the PGA Tour on Sunday by winning the Valero Texas Open, played at the TPC San Antonio (United States) with a total of 268 strokes (20 under par) two less than the second classified, the American Charley Hoffman.

Conners, who in the day today finished the first half of the course at par with four birdies by as many bogeys, made a second round to frame in which he added six birdies , which would eventually give him his first title in the American circuit.

The five birdies of Hoffman were not enough to reach the champion, while his compatriot Ryan Moore, who presented in this last round a card without mistakes with 64 hits (an eagle in the hole 2 - a par 5- and six birdies) could not counteract the advantage and finally was third to three strokes.
