Ciganda and Azahara deflate and end up far from Henderson

Both closed the Hawaiian Lotte Championship with laps over par (+2 and +3, respectively) and could not fight with the Canadian Henderson, who won at -16.

There was no Spanish comeback in the final day of the LPGA Lotte Championship. Azahara Muñoz and Carlota Ciganda went to the final day at the Ko Olina Golf Club with five and six strokes, respectively, of the leader Brooke Henderson. But while the Canadian held on with a good -2 after a round with three birdies and a single failure on the first hole, a majority of her pursuers deflated and ended up winning at -16, with four strokes margin on the Korean Ji.

Among those that succumbed were Ciganda and Muñoz, with six bogeys and four birdies for +2 on the day and -6 in total; the Cordovan, something worse: +3 and -6 in the global also. Both finished seventeenth and will have to wait for their first victory of the year for the best occasion. The other Spaniard in the tournament, Beatriz Recari, did not pass the cut.
