Ducati regains ground: double with Dovizioso and Miller

Márquez did not enter the fight for the best time and was eighth, surpassed by Dovi, Miller, Maverick, Crutchlow, Quartararo, Rossi and Rins.

After leading with solvency in the morning and much of the afternoon session, Márquez did not decide to enter the fight for the best MotoGP lap on the first day of the Argentine Grand Prix. It was worth finishing eighth a day in which Ducati showed that it starts to recover ground also in Termas de Río Hondo, one of its cursed circuits. This is reflected in the double signed by Dovizioso and Miller, separated by only 9 thousandths and 0.164 of the leader on Maverick, which was third.

The reaction of the Yamaha was more than remarkable, because he had started very late in FP1, with a weak eighteenth, and this third in the combined day is much more in line with his potential. Mack surpassed Crutchlow by just one thousandth, placing his fourth place as the first Honda on the grid. Said is that Márquez was only eighth, Nakagami got tenth and Lorenzo finished a disheartening twenty-first position, to 0.978 of the head.

It is very little distance with respect to the first, but with so much equality as soon as you get a little confused you go very back. The five-time champion could only with Syahrin, who finished last to 1,571 of the first, and his result is a consequence of the pain that is still on the rib fissured in Qatar.

Return to the first positions, those who have provisional direct access to the Q2 are Dovizioso, Miller, Maverick, Crutchlow, Quartararo, Rossi, Rins, Marquez, Morbidelli and Nakagami. They will have to try tomorrow, something that is possible because rain is not expected, the aforementioned Lorenzo, Aleix 12º, Mir 15º, Pol 16º and Rabat 20º.
