Third triple-double of Doncic and victory of the new Mavericks

The Slovenian is already the third rookie with more triple-doubles in the last 25 years. They debuted Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke.

Night of many novelties in Dallas. The thing started with a smiling Porzingis waving for the first time to his new hobby, dressed in a suit waiting for his moment to debut. For now it seems that we will have to wait for the next season. It was also the first day for the other three players who arrived from New York: Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke and Courtney Lee. This last one did not play.

The presence of Burke was testimonial (4 minutes), but Hardaway Jr. began to show what his incorporation for the Mavericks can mean. He came from the bench, in a role of sixth man, and left good feelings. 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 26 minutes. Bad percentages (31.3% in field shots, 22.2% in triples), but the conviction that the Texan team has been made with a very dangerous offensive weapon for its second unit.

It is not clear if it will play the owner , the coaching staff is still deliberating what role is most beneficial to him and the team. What is clear with all the changes that have been recent in the template is that his initial quintet has won a lot in defense. Dorian Finney-Smith (15 + 10) and Maximilian Kleber (11 + 7) started with starters as forward and center. With them on court the Mavericks fit 96.2 points for every 100 possessions. The best team in the league in this section are the Bucks, which fit 103.7. And the Mavs themselves get them 108.8

Other that has benefited from this whole situation is Luka Doncic, although it is not that he has done anything new on the other hand. It's his third triple-double of the season (19-10-11) and looks like that of , now that it's already clear that he's the team leader, is going to inflate to make statistics. For now, those of today are worth to become the third rookie with more triple-doubles of the last 25 years. Just ahead of Jason Kidd with 4 and Ben Simmons with 12.

The game was matched, with the Mavs almost always above but without achieving great advantages. Kemba Walker re-signed a tremendous performance (30 + 11 + 6 + 2) and kept his team in the match at various times. But in the last minutes the locals knew closed the result, among other things with a great triple of Doncic with two minutes remaining. The Slovenian did not hesitate despite missing 8 of his ten attempts.

The most curious thing about the meeting was when in the fourth quarter the transfer of Harrison Barnes to the Kings was made official, with the player on the bench (he had already played 25 minutes) . They were going to be the last ones with the Dallas jersey, which was removed before entering the dressing room tunnel at the end of the game.
