Froome begins 2019 in its fifth continent

The Briton debuts today in Colombia before Nairo and Urán. America is the only continent that was missing after being released in Africa (2007), Europe (2009), Oceania (2010) and Asia (2013).

If we take into account the division in six continents, and because in Antarctica there are no cycling races, Chris Froome will have debuted in Africa, Europe, Oceania, Asia and America when he takes the start in the Tour of Colombia 2.1.

The British , born in Kenya, started his professional career in 2007 with Konica in the South African Capo Tour. With his signing for Barloworld he premiered in Europe in 2009, in the Tour of the Mediterranean, and with Sky he discovered Oceania in 2010, in the Tour Down Under, and Asia in 2013, in the Tour of Oman. In this 2019 the campaign begins in the Tour of Colombia 2.1, in South America. "It's about finding the best climate and the best conditions to work in winter," explains Froome.

Chris Froome arrived in Colombia on January 28 to conduct an adaptation rally before starting the Tour. Next to him, Egan Bernal, Jonathan Castroviejo, Sebastian Henao, Jhonatan Narváez and Iván Sosa will be the runners who will line up the Sky.
